Children spend a total of four days per month on the use of mobile apps

The time that children spend on mobile applications reaches a total of 34 hours per month, equivalent to four working days of uninterrupted app usage.

The five most used mobile apps are WhatsApp, Youtube, Facebook, Instagram and Google Chrome:

WhatsApp is the most frequently accessed app at 23 times a day, with an average session length of 1.12 minutes and a total of 13 hours per month.

The longest average session length is on Youtube, with almost 7 minutes per session, followed by Facebook with 2.7 minutes per session.

This study was conducted on an anonymous sample of 500,000 Locategy app users. The app enables parents to understand the use their children make of mobile devices, remotely lock applications for specific time slots, locate, receive notifications when they arrive or leave predefined places, and remote wipe their mobile devices in case of theft or loss.
